A PROUD ADVOCATE FOR THE SOUTH END!
I am a lifelong resident of the South End, and my wife and I made the decision to raise our three boys and build our family-owned business here because we are committed to strengthening our community. Since being elected to Metro Council, I have worked tirelessly to bring real, practical solutions to the challenges we face, making sure the South End is no longer overlooked or underappreciated.
From day one, I have focused on public safety, advocating for policies that give law enforcement the tools and support they need to keep our neighborhoods safe. I proudly led efforts to limit predatory lending practices, ensuring hardworking families are protected from exploitative financial traps. I have also championed community partnerships, such as Holy Cross High School’s involvement in park maintenance, fostering local stewardship and youth engagement.
I am not a career politician—I am a family-oriented, self-made entrepreneur committed to innovative solutions, hard work, and South End values. Whether it’s improving city services, supporting local businesses, or making thoughtful investments in our neighborhoods, I am dedicated to creating meaningful change that benefits the residents of our community.
As I seek re-election, my mission remains the same: to be a strong, independent voice for the South End in City Hall. I will continue to listen, lead, and fight for the issues that matter most to you. Thank you for your support—it has been an honor to serve, and I look forward to building an even stronger future together.

Meet Khalil Batshon
As a proud lifelong south end resident committed to building a stronger southwest Louisville through my work as a small business owner, philanthropist and family man, I am requesting your approval to serve the city I love in a new capacity, as the next District 25 Louisville Metro Councilman.
My name is Khalil Batshon. I am the owner of Khalil’s, a neighborhood staple of my Dixie Highway, Valley Station community. I have always been driven by people and service. As a board member of the Southwest Community Ministries, Riverside Farnsley Moremen and Business Network International, I am actively involved with meeting the needs of my neighbors.
From the time that I was a young boy, my family resided in southwest Jefferson County. I attended Jefferson County public schools and was involved in the community through sports and activities. As a young man, I developed a deep affection and respect for the people and the businesses in this area. For the past fifteen years I have been involved in the food & entertainment industry. Opening Khalil’s in 2012, the business has grown, and I have expanded my business to catering, serving the National Guard, British Aerospace Systems, Louisville Metro Government, corporations large and small to weddings and get-togethers.
I have strong relationships with our local law enforcement, firefighters, and first-responders. My restaurant has evolved into a very successful business. The COVID-19 pandemic and restrictions have severely impacted my business, as it has so many others. I have learned to innovate and alter operations to keep employees working and our doors open while many restaurants are being forced to close. I continue to seek every opportunity to stay in business to keep my employees and community fed. My experience in the private sector has helped me reflect on how we can improve our local government and encourage economic growth.
As the owner and operator of Khalil’s I have gained a non-traditional education from the wealth of knowledge each of my patrons brings through my doors. Getting to know and learn from them has uniquely positioned me to understand what the businesswoman mom, labor union dad, LMPD officer, twice retired grandparent and our maturing young people want from our government. As the District 25 Councilman I will stand up for them. I will help build trust through engagement as a public servant and their next-door neighbor. Having already served the community through my meals, I am now eager to serve the community through my leadership!
